It’s a new year, which means it’s the perfect time to establish new habits to create a neat and tidy home! Decluttering your entire house can be an overwhelming task, especially if you have been avoiding it like the plague. That’s why I suggest starting small – pick one drawer or cabinet to tackle.
Start by completely emptying the contents. Lay everything out where you can see it.
Next, categorize. Group similar items together so you can get a full view of just how many chargers, pens, spices, etc. you have.
Now it’s time to edit – decide what to keep and what to toss or donate. Eliminate anything that you don’t use, love, or need.
Wipe out your drawer or cabinet shelves to make a clean space to organize your now curated collection of things. Implement drawer organizer trays or clear acrylic storage bins so that every item has a home.
Group similar items together and place the most used items in front so they are always close at hand.
Take a look at your handiwork – your freshly cleaned out and organized drawer can inspire you to declutter the next!
